How to Enable a New Platform Team

What is this guide about?

With meshStack and the Platform Ecosystem Module, you can separate different platform teams into their own workspaces without giving them admin privileges. This guide explains how to enable a new platform team in meshStack and get them started in the Platform Builder.

Self-Onboarding

Prerequisites

  • meshStack is set up to enable teams to create workspaces in self-service.
  • A user with access to meshStack.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. In the top navigation bar, click the workspace dropdown and select "Create new workspace".
  2. Follow How to Create a Workspace to create a new workspace. Assign yourself workspace owner permissions.
  3. Once the workspace is created, navigate to Settings > General and enable the toggle for access to the Platform Builder.
  4. You now have access to the Platform Builder via the button in the top right corner.

  • Have admin access to meshStack with Organization Admin or Organization User permissions.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Follow How to Create a Workspace to create a new workspace. Assign the team lead of the platform team workspace owner permissions.
  2. Once the workspace is created, navigate to Settings > General and enable the toggle for access to the Platform Builder.
  3. Onboard the rest of the team using How to Onboard your Team by adding them to the workspace and assigning them the role of Workspace Member or Manager.
  4. The team now has access to the Platform Builder via the button in the top right corner.
